Terms of Service
Short version: read the site, use the app, and understand that the app is free software supplied without warranty. The longer version follows.
1. These terms
By reading omnishelf.cc or using the OmniShelf application you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or the app. They may be updated; the date at the top of this page will change when they are.
2. The application is free software
The OmniShelf Android application is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPLv3). That licence — not this page — governs your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute the application. Where this page and the licence disagree about the software, the licence wins.
In practical terms: you may use the app for any purpose, including at work, and you may redistribute and modify it, provided you comply with the AGPLv3. The complete source code is published at github.com/tt7247129-sys/omnishelf.
3. No warranty
The application and this website are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Reading software handles files it did not create. A malformed file can crash an application; a rendering bug can display a document incorrectly. Keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. In no event shall the maintainers be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the use of the application or this site.
4. What you may not do
You may not use this site in a way that damages it or interferes with other readers: flooding it with automated requests, attempting to bypass access controls, or republishing its text as your own. Quoting and linking are welcome; wholesale copying of articles is not.
The app must not be redistributed under a different name in a way that implies it is the original, or with its licence notices removed. The AGPLv3 permits forks; it does not permit misrepresenting where they came from.
5. Third-party links and advertising
This site links to other sites and may display advertising served by third parties. Those services are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content or their practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion.
6. Content of the notes
The articles describe technical behaviour observed while building and testing the application. They are written in good faith and corrected when they are wrong, but they are not specifications and should not be treated as guarantees about any particular release.
7. Changes and availability
This site and the application may change or be discontinued at any time. There is no service level, no uptime commitment and no obligation to continue development. The source code, however, cannot be withdrawn: the AGPLv3 grants rights that persist for every copy already distributed.
